Pur essendo sempre vegetariana vorrei – come spesso faccio – parlare della pronuncia di steak, carne bistecca. La parola S-T-E-A-K non, ripeto NON , si pronuncia S-T-I-C-K- . si pronuncia come in bake,cake, lake,cake,take, just to make English a little interesting and challenging, else, wouldn’t it get boring ? Phonemic transcription /steɪk/.

$20k….. Ma sappiamo perchè si scrive K per indicare migliaia? Basically K equals to Kilo and Kilo means THOUSAND. So for sake of convenience we use “K” instead of thousand.

Sapevo che mi sarebbe capitato… temevo il momento in cui avrei trovato un libro di testo scolastico che riportasse la frase “the book is on the table’. I ragazzi oggi vivono nella totale connessione, digitalizzazione, app e chats e la scuola da loro un libro di testo con frasi da tradurre “the book is on the table”???? Che vergogna…
